Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
This policy covers https://airporttaxiwhitby.com, the booking site run by Airport Taxi Whitby ("we"). It sets out which personal details a booking involves, what happens to them afterward, and the choices you keep at every stage.
What we collect when you book
A booking request — whether typed into the form or phoned in — asks for:
- Your name, so the request and the driver's manifest match a real person.
- An email address, where the acknowledgement and any trip updates land.
- A phone number, giving the driver a way to reach you and carrying SMS updates.
- The two addresses of the trip, which set the routing and the zone fare.
- Date and pickup time, so dispatch sends a car at the right moment.
- Passenger and bag counts, which decide what size of vehicle takes the job.
- Anything typed in the notes field — gate codes, child-seat needs, flight numbers.
What we never collect
No card numbers or payment credentials pass through this website. You settle the fare in the vehicle once the trip is over, and that transaction stays between you and the terminal in the car.
What the information is used for
Booking details exist to run your trip: reviewing the request, quoting the fare, putting a driver on it, and sending the email and SMS updates that tell you where things stand. If something shifts — a delayed inbound flight, a driver running behind — the contact details are how we tell you. Beyond individual trips, only stripped-of-identity aggregate numbers inform service decisions.
Selling, renting, or swapping customer details to marketers is something we do not do, full stop.
Who else touches your data
Three infrastructure providers handle slices of it on our behalf, each governed by its own privacy terms:
- Postmark carries our outbound email, so it sees the address your acknowledgement goes to.
- Twilio transmits the text-message updates, so it handles your phone number.
- Cloudflare serves and shields the website, screening form submissions for bots through its Turnstile check.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
The site is plain static pages — no advertising cookies, no Google Analytics, no social-media pixels, no tracking scripts of any kind. The one technical artifact is the Turnstile token created while you submit the form; it exists for that session alone, is discarded afterward, and follows you nowhere.
How long booking records stick around
Two years from the trip date, then they are erased for good. Keeping records that long lets us answer questions about a past ride, sort out any billing disagreement, and meet ordinary business bookkeeping obligations.
Your choices and rights
Email book@airporttaxiwhitby.com with your name and booking reference and you can: see a copy of what we hold on you, have a wrong detail fixed, ask for erasure (where the retention rules above allow it), or stop the email and SMS updates. Expect an answer inside 30 days.
How the data is protected
Everything moves over encrypted HTTPS. The database sits on a private network segment with no direct route in from the public internet, and access to it is limited to what operating the service requires.
Policy updates
When this document changes, the new version appears here and the date at the top moves. Checking back occasionally is the surest way to stay current.
